Concerned about getting out in a reasonable time given how bad a shape I was in, I left camp at 6AM before the rest of the crew. Don't worry. They would all still beat me out by 5 hours.

We met this guy, Allan Blair, on the trail. He had a T-Shirt on that said, "Grand Canyon Geezers". He actually knew Caitlin Griffith, now a Professor at LPL, when she was a professor at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
