So we started off on this adventure, driving down south toward Hells Canyon National Recreation Area along the Snake River in Washington. We stopped at this sandy beach along the river while on the way.

It was a beautifully sunny, warm day. WEll, warm for the Pacific Northwest in March, anyway, for sure. High around 60.

We ended up in some public land just north of the Oregon border, the Chief Joseph State Wildlife Recreation Area.
Turns out "Wildlife Recreation Area" means hunting. Who knew?
Pretty spot, though.
